DIY Super Easy Dry Skin/Wrinkle Recipe

posted on: Friday, June 8, 2012

I love making beauty products with things I already have at home.  I suspect most of you have carrots and eggs. I was lucky to score a bag of shredded carrots at my local .99 store.  Carrots and eggs are excellent for the skin.  Carrots are rich in Vitamin A and beta-carotene.  Eggs are high in protein, vitamins and minerals.  Egg whites are known to tighten the skin and reduce minor breakouts.

Super Easy Dry Skin/Wrinkle Ingredients
1 cup finely shredded carrots ( I used shredded it worked fine, I think finely shredded will work best. )
1/2 cup egg whites

carrots and eggs for DIY natural skin/wrinkle recipe

Directions
Mix carrots and egg whites for a minute, apply on hands and/or face.  Leave on for 20-30 minutes.  Wash off with lukewarm water.  Pat dry.

That was easy!  I experimented on my Husband Chris who has dry hands from working so hard.  He says it feels the same but his hands were silky soft!  I'm going to try this regimen on him 2-3x a week and will update!

Note: Eggs are a known allergen so if you feel itching, burning, swelling or see redness - rinse off immediately and contact your Doctor.

  2. Another one that can be done is about a quarter-sized amount of corn or vegetable oil in your kitchen cabinets. Most true massage oils are made with a vegetable oil as a base, and then an essential oil for a scent. I use vegetable oil on my son who has eczema if I run out of his medicinal cream...it works to remove the ashiness as well as moisturizes and keeps the scales from looking as noticeable.

For a great scrub, if your husband's hands are somewhat peely, is cooking oil mixed with a grainy salt or brown sugar. Mix well, and then put between hands and rub, rub, rub, then rinse. Can be used on feet, too.

I plan on updating this because I finally found a coarse sugar and this it will be better :)

      I'll try that, thanks Mimi!
